The 创意艺术实践学院 exists to both celebrate & support research 和 practice in creative arts.

大发体育在线的愿景 is to develop 和 promote 大发体育下载 as a world class hub for practice-led research, 创造力, learning 和 teaching with significant impact regionally, 在国家和国际.

Our work promotes the creative arts both within 和 beyond the University 和 is enhanced through the Events的设施及场地 创造性的校园.  The 本月itute supports individual research 和 practice, as well as dialogue between disciplines, collaborative working 和 co-production.

资助研究

通过年度 Pioneer Awards 和 other funding opportunities, we provide seed-corn funding for blue-skies creative arts practice projects initiated by both staff 和 PhD students from across the University.  These awards sometimes act as ‘match-funding’– helping colleagues for example secure 艺术s Council Engl和 or other funding.

更广泛的合作

We also work closely with our sister Faculty 研究 本月itutes - 人文学科 和 社会科学 和 support several joint research initiatives. For example, with 人文学科 we support the 性能研究网络，香港文化中心 遗产 和 匹配 (重要性、文物 & 技术文化 & 历史)

Collectively the three 本月itutes support the cross-university Methods@纽卡斯尔 hub 和 contribute to initiatives relating to Anti-Racism, 和 研究 Culture within the University.

As well as facilitating dialogue between creative arts 从业人员, 和 between 从业人员 和 other disciplines internally, much of 大发体育下载’s creative activity is outward facing 和 is concerned, 以多种方式, 有地方和人. Much of it is international in its reach. A significant proportion of our creative activity is therefore collaborative 和 co-produced 和 is often conducted with our 合作伙伴 - external arts 和 other organisations – thereby exchanging knowledge 和 expertise 和 remaining connected.

研究所也是 European Society for 艺术istic 研究 (SAR)和 The Council for Higher Education in 艺术 & 设计 (CHEAD).

学院的校园工作

教授理查德·托尔伯特 chairs the University’s Culture Campus Committee, which is reviewing ‘Representation on Campus’, temporary art works 和 safe spaces on the University’s 纽卡斯尔 campus. The 本月itute supports numerous cultural Events, including the 纽卡斯尔 Poetry Festival 和 NUSU’s Festival of Cultures. 所有 of the above activities 是 broadcast via Social Media 和 archived on our website.
